Using Claude Code or the Codex terminal?
Run these commands in your terminal for the selected assistant. If the server already exists, run only the login command.

A few useful answers.
What is MCP?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is a standard connection between an AI assistant and a service. Here it lets your assistant read and manage Smart Calendars AI feeds while you keep working in the conversation.
Which assistants can I use?
Use ChatGPT (with Developer mode), Claude, Claude Code, the Codex app or Codex CLI with the direct setup above. Smart Calendars AI is not currently listed in Anthropic’s or OpenAI’s directories. You don’t need a directory listing to make this connection. Availability can depend on your assistant’s version, plan and workspace settings.
Do I need an account, an API key or the calendar app?
You need a Smart Calendars AI account and access to the assistant you choose. Sign in or create your account during setup. No API key or Smart Calendars AI app download is required. Your assistant’s own pricing still applies.
What can my assistant access?
The permissions you approve apply to your Smart Calendars AI feeds, events and status. Write access also allows creation, editing, removal, restoration, deactivation and reactivation. It does not grant Gmail access or general access to your Apple, Google or Outlook calendars. Feed details returned by a tool are shared with the assistant you chose.
What is free, and when do credits apply?
Connecting and reading feeds are free. Structured calendars supplied by your assistant can be created and activated free within your allowance: up to 3 custom feeds and 3 structured creations per rolling 30 days without a subscription. First activation includes 24 hours of editing. After that, 1 credit, with your explicit approval, opens another 24-hour editing window for that feed—not a charge per edit. Subscribers have unlimited direct edits within their feed quota. An expired editing window does not stop a published feed. Source extraction and manual or automatic refreshes have separate pricing.
How do I get the events into my calendar?
Ask your assistant for the feed’s subscription link and subscribe in your calendar app. Subscribe rather than importing a one-off file if you want later edits. Your calendar app controls how often it refreshes. Anyone with the subscription link may access the published events, so share it carefully.
Will source changes appear automatically? What if I disconnect?
No source monitoring is enabled automatically for an assistant-created structured feed. Your assistant can help you apply later changes, subject to editing access. Disconnecting the assistant does not delete your feeds; deactivating a feed stops its availability without deleting its stored records. An expired editing window alone does not stop publication.
